can't delete icon

Save a web page on my desktop and now want to delete it and can't. Right clicking doesn't work on it. It will work on other icons there. Now what was put there when save was two icons, one shows web page, and other icon has bunch of folders in It. Thank you all for your help.

either end task on it and delete it or boot to safe mode and del it. One if not both should work

This might sound silly but did you try deleting it after reboot?
If all else fails it can be removed in DOS but I don't think it will come to that. The suggestions given should work (if reboot doesn't fix it).
It sounds like a normal webpage you view off-line. One icon opens the page, the folder contains all the graphics and other gimmicks which make the page work - quite normal.
The desktop is not the ideal place for saving web pages. Far better to make a folder in Windows Explorer (or My Computer) and download them into it. You give the folder a name that indicates what it is.

If you open Windows Explorer and got to
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Desktop
You can delete the Icons and folders there.

Whoops, Sorry. Thats doesnt apply to Windows 98
Try c:Windows\Username\Desktop
or Just C:\Windows\Desktop depending on how you have Win98 configured.

... just an observation. I have a sneaky feeling that if it won't delete from the desktop it won't delete from c:\windows\desktop (or whatever). I'll keep watching tho - you never know until you try.
