Can't delete file on desktop

I downloaded the trail version of McAfee utilities, and uninstalled it couple of days ago. But it left the McAfee file shredder, one of the applications that came with it, on my desktop. The icon is there but I can't open it, and I can't delete it either. How can I get rid of it?

Did you uninstall it or delete it? If you just deleted it, reinstall it and uninstall it. If you did uninstall it, try renaming the icon to something like "fred" so it stands out. Then do a regedit and search for fred. When you find it in the registry, remove it.
