Check proxy in your browser and DNS addresses in your dialer configured as per ISP's recommendations.

Jose,
Can you send and receive email? If you can then your connection is O.K. Try doing a ping test. At a DOS prompt, type ping www.yahoo.com (or any address) if you get a reply your setup (DNS etc) is O.K. If you don't get a reply, try
ping 204.71.202.160 If that gets a response then you need to set up DNS addresses in your dial up configuration. If neither ping test gets a response, you probably have a problem with your network components (TCP/IP, Dial up adapter) Your ISP tech support should be able to help you troubleshoot this.

If all of your other suggestions don't help,
try getting new versions of your browsers.
Old browsers are unable to handle the current
technologies on web sites.

Make sure Client For Microsoft networks is installed under network in control panel.
cause if it isn't you'll still be able to connect but you won't be able to visit any sites.

You need to disable file-sharing in the network configuration. Run Control Panel, Network, Configuration and choose TCP/IP->DialUp Adapter, 'Properties', Binding, and tick OFF the 'File/Printer Sharing', restart PC. Hope it works
