I get the error message When I Try to Use Internet Explorer: No Connection to the Internet Is Currently Available. I found a fix for it which required changing the values in the following registry key to "auto": HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Webcheck However, every time I change the values to "auto" and close the registry and reboot or launch IE, the values in registry key changes back to its default setting. How do I make the change in the registry key stick? Thanks in advance to everyone.

Webcheck runs at startup, so even though you change the reg setting, it is activated each time you reboot. Run MSCONFIG, and go to Startup tab. Uncheck the entry for LOADWC.exe Good luck Krystyna

Hi Krystyna. I looked in my startup tab and didn't find Loadwc.exe. I found it under windows/system and changed the file to "DoNotLoadwc.exe" However, the value for Loadsens in the registry still reverts back to its default setting after bootup or IE launch. I'm at wits end here. Please help!!!

The above thread while informative didn't help in resolving my problem. I have renamed loadwc.exe to no effect. The values in webcheck are still resetting to default after restart.
