(Please don't SHOUT.) What are you trying to change it to? If you are trying to get higher resolution than 800x600, do you know that your video card will support it?

And if your video card will support it, are you sure that your monitor will? (Is it an older one -- if so, many did not...)

Install the most current driver for your video card and monitor. You'll then have all available resolutions.

The following may indicate what type of Display Driver you have:

Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information>(+)Components>Display

Be patient and eventually it may show the model of the Display Adaptor plus much other info you may not want or understand.

Go to the manufacturer's site and download the latest drivers. Or go to:

http://www.driverguide.com/guide/faq.htm#1

You should be able to get it there. Bear in mind that you will still be limited by the info given in Responses 1 & 2.
