Can't browse internet with Win98 network

Comment:
I installed a network on Win98 and I can browse the internet for a minute sometimes and then it quits browsing. Most of the time, I can connect but can't browse or get e-mail. This has been going on for three days. I've tried removing dialup networking and all of the network protocols and then re-installing everything but it does the same thing.

I had something that sounds a bit similar, though with one only machine.
I'd go online for a minute or 2. Then it would stop. i must have installed and re-installed the drivers 10 times!
Then, I swapped out the LAN card with another and ... all better - I guess I didn't have the right drivers, or the LAN card just didn't get along with the other hardware?

Are you connected to internet via dial-up or LAN (Local Area Network? If you are connected to LAN, please make sure you have assigned a correct IP address. If you are connected to cable modem and you have changed the network card of your PC, make sure you restart your cable modem by power off and on. The cable modem will then auto assigned IP address to the new Network card.
If your internet is connected via dialup networking, please check the proxy setting at the connection tab is set corrected and the IP address of the ISP on the TCP/IP.
