You are on the Windows 95/98 forum yet your specs say Linux. Which is it?

At what point do those symbols arrive and can you try to describe them a little more fully please? How big are they and are they the only things on the screen? Sorry, I'm having a job to imagine exactly what you are seeing.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

This symbol is telling you to turn off then turn on the machine. Your bios settings are lost so I would think your cmos battery is dead. after rebooting go into the bios and change what is needed then you should be able to boot normally. This will happen every time you turn on the laptop until the battery is replaced
