I have fdisked, formated and Installed windows 98Se on my system, but later I tried to boot but it couldn't. As I switch it on it starts working, I hear the one beep of the Bois which I think is good. Then after 8 or 10 seconds of operation with no display in the screen it switches off automatically. I can't reset or switch it on again unless unplug the power cable and plug it again. It is not the power supply because I replaced it and it behaves the same way. Please help what could be wrong with my system. thanks in Advance

can you get into the setup utility? if you can, run autodetect ide devices; disable usb, sound card, modem and network; check the vcore and other voltage values, change the vga irq assign, check that the cpu speed is OK. take off all the memory, and try to use only one dimm. check irqs, dmas, check the coolers. Try with smart for hard disks.
