cant access second hard drive

i have 2 hard drives on my computer , one with windows etc and the other with research info. i cant access my 2nd drive .
it doesnt even show up as being there, it shows up in the bios but cant seem to get it back. this is what it says in my bios
ide adapter 0 master (c:636mb) ide adapter 0 slave (none) ide adapter 1 master (d:342mb) ide adapter 1 slave (none)
my c drive is my main drive and the d drive is my extra drive
and after changing stuff now my a drive says it is removable and i cant use that either. please help me anyone thank you

The first thing I would do is remove the cover from the pc and check that all cables are plugged in tightly. Usually remove and replace each cable one end at a time. Let us know if this works.
