canot close.

1/cannot close program internet explorer.
2/icon says print instead of open
it seam the problems are with internet explorer could norton internet have antthing to do with it

It may do, as Norton's have been guilty of cocking up many a system.

You could try running sfc to replace any corrupt system files:

command prompt, type sfc /scannow (note space) and pop in xp disc.

Or you can try a repair: http://www.uea.ac.uk/itcs/software/xp/xprepair.html

BTW you posted in 98 os.
