Comment:

i have an emachines etower
with a 10gig hdd - the hdd had w-95
i upgraded several months ago to w-98
it worked fine..
we then recently got the canon printer..
it worked just fine..
but we had o/s corruption- lockups and stuff like that (it had been running 95 since '97)
so i opted to f/r the system..
well i was able to do with minor difficulty
except for finding out that i had a memory
resident virus...
(fixed .)
after a debug /fdisk /format and reinstall
i got all drivers loaded..
and that was it.. got some of the system updates.. and ect...
works fine but now the printer
well we can install the sw no prb..
but for some reason the system will not
acknowledge that the printer is
physically attached the system..
we/ve swapped cables and ports (usb)
no go in both ports with both cables
our canon scanner works fine..
any ideas please

Is it a USB scanner?
Have you verified that USB is enabled in the Bios?
