Hi,
My friend has an HP computer with a Canon BJC 2114 printer attached by USB cord. She recently replaced the ink cartridge, but keeps getting the error, "A BJ cartridge error occurred, please install cartridge properly..." I tried cleaning the contacts, and the installation seems straight forward and tight. I don't know if this is a bad cartridge. I believe she has the latest drivers. Any idea?

Hi Rune.

Is it the cartridge you are replacing or just the ink tank that fits into the cartridge?

If it is the ink tank you are replacing, the cartridge that the ink tank goes into may be worn out and need replacing. The cartridge also includes the printer head.

If it is the cartridge you are replacing, you have to run the head cleaning utility, sometimes several times, to get the ink to start flowing through the new cartridge. The utility should be in the driver menu somewhere.

Take care,

Linda
