Canon BJC-5100 print error (win98)

Every time I reboot my new computer, using win98, I have to re-run the installation disk , for my BJC 5100 printer, to get the printer to work. Error message say unable to send data to the printer. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Try uninstalling your printer or remoing it from the installed printers and deleting it's folder from Windows before you reinstall it again. This might help.

My parents had the same problem with their BJC-5000 on WIN 98, except theirs came with a sheet that explained some common errors it had with WIN 98. One of the solutions was to change a .vxd extension to .old, though I can't remember what the filename was! Do a find on your C: drive for "*.vxd". They only had one file with a vxd extension on theirs, so if only one comes up, try making that change and restarting. If it doesn't work, remember to change it back!
