Recently I have got a Canon Scanner - CanoScan N64OP and connected it to my PC. Due to the lack of printer ports, I connected my printer to my pc through the scanner as instructed in the manual, anyway everything was working well for a few weeks, until recently my printer (Canon BJC-210) has been playing up. It doesn't print! It states that there is no paper in the printer when there clearly is, and then it states that the printer is not connected to the computer!
I have tried re-installing the printer, taking out the scanner and installing the printer on it's own and still it doesn't want to print anything!
I always get a propt telling me either that the printer is not connected prpoerly or there is no paper in the tray!
I tried test prints and trouble-shooting yet nothing has helped!
Please if you have any answers to this madness it would be much appreciated!
Please e-mail me a.s.a.p.
Thanks!

When you say you "took out" the scanner does that mean you uninstalled by proper proceedure, or did you just remove it from pc and maybe delete it from device manager?
My suggestion is to get another printer port. I have picked them up for as cheap as $5. And very easy to install. They also come in the PCI or ISA interface
Bottom line is no matter what the box says about "pass through" ports being supported, PC's just don't like sharing ports for any reason.
