canon bjc-1000 problem

my printer is canon bjc-1000.recently the printer icon is deleted from the printers folder.now i can not print any document using any software.if i give the print command the whole program no matter what the software it is,it freezes.but my programs menu and in the add remove list box shows the printer drivers are still in my machine.but i cant uninstall or re install the drivers because when i try that it too get stucks.

Try physically uninstalling the printer and re-installing it under Control Panel. Check all your connections - you could also test it on a friend's pc to see if the problem carries over to a new environment. If doesn't, would mean problem within your PC somewhere.
You could also try and restore your registry to an earlier time when you know your printer worked ok.
