Canon BJC 6000 Problem

I just bought a BJC 6000. It prints fine but after it completes a print job it will try to return the carriage to the right. It cannot do it and it will shift back and forth a few times then run to the right side and it sounds like it is bumping against the stop....ka--thunk-ka-thunk-ka-thunk..etc for about 15seconds then it will stop and be ok until the next time I print. Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix?

I have a Canon 6000 printer and to the best of my knowledge the noises are normal. What you hear is the printer performing a cleaning function. I've printed at least 1500 pages so far and everything's fine. Note I'm using refill ink and it's great.
