I have a Canon Powershot A40 and I just set up a new computer and lost the disc with all the software and drivers on it. I have tried many ways of getting it to work but none seem to work. I know its gonna suck becuase even the software that came with the camera is confusing but if theres anyway for me to get my pics off the camera and on my computer please help. (I do not plan on buying a compact flash reader)

Try the Canon site. If you registered the camera, you should be able to get a replacement CD. They may even have a software download you can do. If none of that works, I'd say you should START planning on buying a flash card reader. I find they work infinitely better anyway. Ray

I have that same A40 camera and have had all sorts of trouble in trying to get the Canon software to work in Win 98...no troubles with XP.
As Ray has suggested...do yourself a favour and buy a CF reader. They work a treat and you won't need any Canon software programs then. Any photo editing program will be okay.
