Cannot see Comps on home network

I have a computer that was on a home network... I redid the system set it up identicle to what it was before only now I can't get it to show up on the network... I am using a linksys router/hub I have renewed and released IP's till my brain hurts... I have trouble shooted until my fingers three systems are running windows 98 it should be just a simple point and click but it isnt.... oh an they can all surf the net... and yes every file on them are shared... they just cant see each other... what am i doing wrong...

oh and I can ping all the computers and get a reply so they are all connected to my isp... they just cant see each other so I can file transfer/share printer

Be sure you have the modem connected to the proper port on the router. Did you enable some form of sharing on each computer?

After rereading your initial post it does sound like you may be using the wrong port on the router to connect to the modem. I'm not clear on exactly what hardware you have. Router with 1 port or more than one? Uplink to an additional hub? Also, what OS is running on the one computer you can't network? All the computers must have at least one identical protocol installed and have the same workgroup. The most common is TCP/IP.

right now I have a router with 6 ports but it will be routered to one with four.... I know its in the right ports as I can surf the net... all of the systems are running windows 98 or windows 98 se... they can all surf the net... and yes every file on them are shared... they just cant see each other... what am i doing wrong...

get to a command prompt and type:

net view

what does it say?
