"Cannot Open Truncated File Names from Compact Discs" - This is usually a problem with Windows NT, but I have Windows 98 SE, and I'm having problems with this. On Microsoft, you can look it up at:
http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q159105
But, this didn't help. It only suggested that I get an NT service pack. That's right, an -NT- service pack that had a Cdfs.sys file. What is a Cdfs.sys file and how does it help the CD-ROM read the full file names? Who knows. All I know is that my CD-ROM that was working perfectly before only reads in the 8.3 DOS file format and won't read any files with long, windows like names. Someone please help.
(Email me at commandur@yahoo.com after 5/30/01, because I won't be checking this forum anymore by then.)

Did you ever get the other problem taken care of with your drives being in msdos-compatibility mode?

If you still have that problem look at this:
