I keep getting this error the msnp32.dll file error message. So I un-installed the "Client for Microsoft Networks." Then I re-installed it. Now that message is solved. Before I couldn't see anyone on the network and now I can. But now I get this error message when I open internet explorer,"Cannot open Internet site https://<Web address>. A connection to the server could not be established." I don't know why this is coming up. If you guys could help me out that'll be great. I'm using windows 98. If you could help me step-by-step. Thanks.

note that the error message says https and not http. https refers to encrypted http pages.
I suspect that http pages work but not https pages.Just guessing, could be wrong.
My advice stops here. I am not going to advise anyone to continue using an insecure and second rate browser like IE as I am not doing them any favours in my honest opinion. My advice is to deinstall IE with 98lite and use mozilla or a firefox/thunderbird combination for a superior and more secure browser/mail client experience.
Yes, I am totally biased against MS products for absolutely no reason other than I follow the techie news and hear about new IE/OE exploits every week and the lack of proper response from MS.
Preview an email, get a virus... preview a jpeg, get a virus. Go to a web site, get a virus.

Have you got a https web site as your home page ?

Try changing your home page to something else.

You could also try deleting your Temporary Internet Files folder, and your Cookies.
