My problem is I have just reinstalled windows98SE, and now I find that I cannot set my display to anything more than 16 colours.Also my system is only detecting a HHD of 502MB instead of the 1.2gb that it has.
Tried to reinstall drivers for monitor and display adaptor, windows says it has the best drivers already. Tried uninstalling monitor and display adaptor. ALL same afterwards. Before i reinstalled windows everything was fine. Using an OSBORNE MAG15DLS monitor.
Any help would be appreciated. Please post here and e-mail me at beingfriendly@hotmail.com
dont know what else to try!

Hi beingfriendly,

Windows is unable to find the right driver for video and audio so it installs only standard VGA 640 x 480 x 16 color driver and no sound.

You must go on and install the right drivers now!

Have a good day,

Gérard from Paris, France

You don't say what video card you are using, but if you have the CD that came with the card, install the drivers from it. If you don't have the CD go to the card manufacturer's web site and download the drivers you need.

Right click on the desktop, select properties, settings, advanced, adapter, change, display a list of ..., have disk and then point it to the folder with your drivers.

You can go to http://www.belarc.com This site will analyse your computer and give you a list of the components, etc. You should get an ID for your video card there. Is it possible that you have integrated video? (ie built into your mobo?) Anyway, Belarc should tell you.

I seem to have a built in video card, but run belarc and cant seem to identify the card. I see the following;
Controllers
Standard Floppy Disk Controller
Primary IDE controller (dual fifo)
Secondary IDE controller (dual fifo)
SiS 5513 Dual PCI IDE Controller Standard Display
PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA) [Display adapter]
Super VGA 1280x1024 @ 75 Hz [Monitor)

also this is puzzlling me;
Drives
527 Megabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
32 Megabytes Hard Drive Free Space

MITSUMI CD-ROM FX162T4!B
Generic floppy disk drive (3.5")

ST32122A (2.11 GB) [Hard drive] -- drive 0

what size really is my harddrive??? 559mb or 2.11GB??? If the latter why isnt it being detected???

THIS PROBLEM IS DOING MY HEAD IN... CAN ANYONE HELP ME??
