Hi, i have a built computer, my monitor is a Sceptre P513, i have a Dell Optiplex GTX110 Win 98 processor and i'm having some problems with my monitor. It all started when i formated my c:\ and had to reinstall win 98, since then i can't switch my monitor's settings to 800x600 and the colors only go up to 16, it used to work well...
...A desperate kid, please help me! Any help is welcome!
Thanks!

Enter the service tag number from the back of your computer here and it should direct you to the dell driver page.
Your model may have had more than one possible video option. If you can't figure it out you can try something like everest home edition to ID the video adapter.
If you can, get the drivers from Dell's site as they may be more specifically adapted for your model. They should also have installation instructions.

Thanks DAVEINCAPS,...

Who's DAVINCAPS? Any relation to DAVEINCAPS? Just kidding! ;>)
Yeah, ya gotta get up pretty early in the morning to get anywhere ~near~ ahead of Dave. Seems he's on 24/7. (I personally don't think he sleeps.)
It's a good day when you learn something

Thanks guys. I do tend to keep some odd hours. But if you want someone that never seems to sleep I'd point to jboy. It seems he's posting from sunup to, well, almost next sunup.

I really do need to get outside more ; )
DAVE still gets my vote for 'Most Patient Poster'.
You go the distance for so many of the 'not-so-easy' ones, sending out bootdisks and drivers - even hardware on occasion.
Well done.

Heh, I put jboy into a slightly different category. He's hard wired to his home network. What's it that Seven of Nine does in lieu of sleep, regenerate?

It's really very.. soothing.
Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.

Yeah, I used to think my hours were bad but I do usually make it before those darned birds start twittering. It sure must be very light when jboy goes to bed.
Krystyna once said to me "I thought you were in the UK" when she checked the time of one of my emails. Err..yes I am, but how else can I attempt to sync with you lot?

I'm suppose to be a computer tech, but I'm working on two computers that have just dumbfounded me. Both are compaqs (differnt models) and both have S3 ProSavage Intergrated graphics, one is running 98 and the other is running ME. The Screen area on both are unchangable and the color resets to 256 on every boot. I have found drivers on driverguide.com but they don't work either. I have tried all the basic stuff, so besides the basic stuff does anyone have any other Ideas?

Maybe you're unfamiliar with how the Computing.Net forum works as well
