I am connecting to the Internet through a DSL connection and for some reason, I cannot access the main Microsoft website (microsoft.com). I wanted to try out the IE6 beta, but the setup program cannot connect to the server. This appears to be the only website I cannot access. I have checked my settings on the Zone Alarm firewall I'm running, but nothing obvious seems to be out of order. My OS is Windows 98SE. Any help/suggestions is appreciated.

java code problems ????? had similar probs yesterday getting securty update from windows update page,,would get so far then no further actions from the java controls on the page.

Try going for it this way from their downloads page:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?
on this page pick product as IE 6 admin and it takes you to :

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/download/preview/ie6/betanote.asp?FinishURL=%2Fdownloads%2Frelease%2Easp%3FReleaseID%3D28711%26redirect%3Dno

I didn't try the D/l so no guarantees this will get it for you.

Microsuck is really anal about what browser settings you're using when you try to get on their sites. Go to your internet options security and general tabs and make sure everything labeled java is enabled. Also try setting security to the lowest setting.
