[Sorry, the previous one is screwed up.]
Hi all,
My home LAN is something like this:
///////////////////////////////////////////
///////////// host1 ///////////////////////
///////////// 192.168.0.1 /////////////////
///////////// +------+ ////////////////////
///////////// | PC-A | ////////////////////
///////////// | win2k| ////////////////////
///////////// +------+ ////////////////////
//////////////// | ////////////////////////
//////////////// | ////////////////////////
/ +------+ /// +-----+ ////// +------+ ////
/ | PC-B |-----| hub |--------| PC-C | ////
/ | win2k| /// +-----+ ////// | winNT| ////
/ +------+ /////// | //////// +------+ ////
/ host2 ////////// | //////// host3 ///////
/ 192.168.0.2 //// | //////// 192.168.0.3 /
////////////////// | //////////////////////
////////////////// | //////////////////////
/////////////// +------+ //////////////////
/////////////// | PC-D | //////////////////
/////////////// | win98| //////////////////
/////////////// +------+ //////////////////
/////////////// host4 /////////////////////
/////////////// 192.168.0.4 ///////////////
///////////////////////////////////////////Everybody except PC-D can see each others
and share folders or files or a printer
with no problem whatsoever.But PC-D, which is actually a laptop PC,
has some difficulties. While everybody else
can see others either by the IP address or
the host name(host1, host2...), PC-D(host4)
cannot see "host2". It can ping "host1"
or "host3" as well as their IP address. And
it can ping 192.168.0.2, the IP address of
host2. Only "host2" doesn't work.Host1 is the gateway to the outside world
of this LAN and PC-D has no problem
accessing outside(Internet) thru host1 as
others can.PC-D, or host4, can even do the "net use"
command successfully to "host1" or "host3".
Howcome cannot this guy even ping "host2"?Others can ping "host4". Host4 can ping
others except "host2".I'm pretty much stuck. Please help.
Thanks,
Dai
