can not print background color

When I insert a background colour into a Ms Word Document/letter I seem unable to produce the background effect when printing the document - there is a check box option in the Printer Properties named 'Background Printing' but checked or not does not produce the image. Any ideas please?

did you try tools>internet options>advanced and under printing, make sure the box is checked for printing images. I'm not sure if that will help as it is for the internet, but it's worth a try. HTH
