Comment: I have been researching this particular issue to some extent and need to know if I can partition my hardrive(20GB) into other drives even though I already have Win98 installed? Do I need to format? Is there some way of doing this without killing everything?

Reply: (edit)Hi Steven, You can definately partition a hard drive with data on it. You have to use PartitionMagic by Power Quest that you can find at http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/ I used it and it works very well...

Reply: (edit)Do you have a win98 CD, or a win98 bootable rescue disk (created during the installation)? If you do, use it to boot from CD (set BIOS to boot from CD first), or boot off drive A: (floppy disk), then run FDISK. Select "Y"es for "Large Harddisk" option and you should be able to partition the new HDD. The FDISK has a menu system and is very intuitive. Should you get lost, post another message and we will try to help.
