What burning software do you have for the CDRW? Or do you have any? 32 MB ram could also be a issue

Also,"Can I connect USB port to this system" Do you have usb ports intergrated in your mobo? If not you should be able to install a PCI USB card into the system

"Pentium 200 MHZ" may also be an issue. You should have a PIII to use a burner.
It's a good day when you learn something

Thanks every body.. The issue is writing CD directly like in Win'Xp. In Win'Xp we directly send files/folders to Cd by Copy-paste method & send to method without using seperate software. My Bios detects the CDRW but after loading Win 98Se I can only use it as a CD-player. With Nero I can burn CDs, but on loading the Nero 6 it gives a message that nero support only BIOS after 1999, your BIOS is 1997. But I can burn the CD, but in slow.

Usually when burning by copy/paste to CD-RW you need software such as Nero "InCD" which is for that very purpose. With CD-R's you use the normal Nero burning software screen.
This situation might we different with other software suppliers.
