Hello, my ip address was banned on an ezboard site from an arguement. I was a member on the site for over 2 years and like the site. But, one administrator happy with his internet power didn't like an opinion. So he banned my ip.

I am using bellsouth 2wire dsl. Windows 98se Is there a free way that I can change my ip address without contacting bellsouth? I appreciate your help.

I'm fairly certain that's controlled by Bell South.

I think there may be a way. You will have to contact BellSouth, but it may be worth your while as it may save you some money.
I just went down to my ISP office this week to pay on my bill and they informed me of a new type of IP they have.
Everybody knows that if you have DSL you have a static IP address, right? Wrong. They just started this. You now have an option to keep the static IP address you have (at a higher cost) or go with the new "Dynamic" IP address that is availible. The Dynamic IP address is to help protect our privacy. And it makes the IP address for DSL like the "floating" IP address of the old fashioned dial-up connection, giving you a different IP address every time you start up your computer. It won't change every time you open your browser, but it will change on every bootup. It might be worth looking into. Mine, if I choose to go that route would save me $10 a month over the static IP address.

If you truly like the site, and you were banned ONLY for a constructive opinion, I would first try to e-mail the administrator and try to work it out. Then one would be able to resume use of the site without bad karma if this admin see you there posting again.

Just my thoughts though.

If the house catches fire, SAVE the computer!!
