Reply: (edit)Hi I am not an expert but I do know that ram can be upgraded,(its a piece of hardware like a cd drive you can physically remove it from the computer) how far you can upgrade depends on your computer. Should be able to find it out on the internet.

Reply: (edit)Some systems will share memory with the video card - check your BIOS/CMOS setup and see if this is the case - probably 4 Mb for the video card is plenty depends on what resolution you run at and what your games might require. Other than that you'd have to physically install more ram, in accordance with the specs for your motherboard - there may be details on the inside of the chassis, failing that you'd need your manual.

Reply: (edit)A typical Pentium I computer had 16 Mb of RAM.Pentium I memory is EDO used in pairs only. You can still find some of those very rare 16 or 32 MB EDO sticks but you will have to buy 2 or 4 of each to fill the slots.Memory was very expensive(hundreds of dollars for one 32 MB stick) back then so be ready to pay a lot compared to recent memory sticks even for used memory and for little memory in the end.Make sure you check the memory you buy if it is used so that you don't end up with the same or less memory. They all look the same unless you know the coding.Ask the seller to install it for you and doublecheck the total you get compared to advertised.Good luck.

Reply: (edit)you can get a couple 16mb sticks for $15-20.00 for a pair , I've got some but it will cost more to ship than what its worth, Try a local computer repair shop , they may have some used sticks Make sure you get the parity correct Go to the Computer mfg site and see what you need Try cruicial.com
