I cracked my win98se cd by accident and it won't read and I'm trying to make another one so I can reformat... Can someone list the folders and where they appear on the cd when it's opened? Thanks a bunch

I know when you open the cd the win98 folder is there but is there any startup program or is that in the win98 folder? The win98 folder also has all the numbered base, net, driver, win98 folders etc right? Am I missing anything?

Hi Kidjete2, hello everyone,
No you are not missing anything.
All you need is the Win98 folder to install, with the product key code of course.

Go to my webspace (via the header in this reply) and grab Win98SE.jpg. Is this what you wanted, or is further detailed required?

There are no sub-folders inside the Win98 folder. Just loads of Cabinet files, a few EXE files, a handful if Bin files and some wav files and a few com files.

As already said, only the stuff in the W98 folder is required for install.
As for the rest, well my OEM W98SE disk is like this:
As well as the W98 folder there are also these folders: add-ons cdsample drivers tools
There are also sub-folders to Win98 which are: ols tour
There are sub-folders to all of those mentioned above. The total quantity of folders and sub-folders on the CD is 356, rather too many to spell out on here.

kidjete2, you were typing #6 just as I posted #5. See #5 above. It's a text file of ~everything~ on the cd.

Derek, I don't see why you'd want to send apologies. Perhaps, maybe, ~I'm~ slumbering now, and this is all a dream. ;>)

Nope, you are wide awake, it's all there, every folder and every file. Almost worth cracking my CD (a bit) just to prove it works....
