I an the owner of a "CPI EuroViVa CommCenter 33.6 2.000.E1" modem and a Gateway PC. Having recently had Caller ID enabled on my line, I have attempted to use this feature via my modem and several Communications programmes which support Caller ID, but to no avail. I have read advice on several internet forums, which has led me to "asking" the modem itself (through Microsoft HyperTerminal) if it supports the feature. When I type " at#cid=? " the modem replys: " 0,1,2 ", suggesting that it does indeed support Caller ID. THe next thing I do is enter " at#cid=1 " to instruct it to turn on Caller ID, to which it returns the response "OK". My problem however is this: I get no Caller information when the telephone rings. If I then try asking my modem what mode it is in by typing " at#cid? " I am given the reply " O OK", the zero implying that Caller ID is still off, thus my previous request to enable Caller ID has been ignored by the modem.Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can persuade the modem to do what it is asked, and switch on Caller ID? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this problem is starting to really annoy me.
Thank-you in advance,
