I am considering using Easy Desk Software Reg Repair 2000 on my PC it is working fine at the moment apart from the occasional hitch after which I have to reset the machine, which in turn starts Scandisk there always seems to bethe same errors. What I am concerned about if I run Reg Repair could I upset 98 into more problems. Is Reg Clean the same type of program?

Regards

M

I have reg clean and all those registry programs to is help show you all programs that are located in there and gives you the option to remove them. If you have deleted a program that you didn't want, the registry still may have the path there. This is where you can go in and delete it. If you remove a registry path of a program you have installed now, then you may incounter a problem. Other than that, you should be safe.

Hi I tryed useing Perfect Companion from Easy Desk Software a reg cleaner but did not like it, It would clean to much and my Norton Utilities would not work. I use reg clean and Jv16 powertools instead.

A couple of days ago you (M) were were wondering if you had a Ram shortage and you described some of the problems that were occuring. I read here scandisk is finding errors. Before moving ahead it would be best to resolve why scandisk is finding errors, is it a problem with file structure or surface scan. To be safe I would boot from the window 98 cd of win 98 boot floppy - [ with the cd - go to win 98 dir type d: or letter of cdrom then type cd win98]and run a full scandisk on your drive scandisk c: /surface]

If there is a bad section where the system files reside then this problem will need fixing first.
