Burning problem with Nero

I recently used Nero 5 to burn a music CD, which Nero reported burned effectively.
All was well and fine until it wouldnt play in my stereo and there didnt appear to be any files on the CD.
I then burned the same CD-R again...only to find no files. Ive tried using mp3's and wav files but nothing ever gets written. Is it a software problem or does my CD Burner need replacing?
It plays existing data and audio CD's fine. any help would be appreciated. thanx.

Have you burned CDR's and played them on your stereo before?
Also after you've burnt a CDR, it can't be reused.
Have you cleaned your CD writer lately?
I had the same problem with a friend's burner, but more extreme. It'll read data CD's, but not music or burnt CD's. The burner is going to make a very fancy and expensive doorstop.

Yes ive burned my cds before and played them on my stereo.
we tested this on two cds and it keeps saying there are no files when i search in my computer.
do you know any other cd burning software?

What is furio! I also have Nero and it won't write to CDR discs but has no problem with CDRW discs.
