I went to a site one day that had a zillion little pop up ads. Ever since then, any IE window that I open comes up that little size, and then I have to maximize it. Is there a setting somewhere in win98, or IE that the darn site changed on me? Can I get it to automatically open up in a full sized window, like it used to? Any help would be truly appreciated. :-)

IE remembers the size of the last browser window opened (unless it's specifically sized in the script that spawns it).
Resize the window however you like it, and close it. The next time you open it, it should retain the prior dimensions

Go to your "main" Iexplorer icons (on initial windows setup, they're placed at; Start/Programs listing, your Desktop, and sometimes Quick Launch) and R-Click, Properties, Run: select maximized. See if that helps.

Stretch when your window when it comes up [don't max.] it just stretch it to the size you want then go to your tool bar ,click on file scroll down to close or exit which ever you have and close window from there ,then open your window again ,it should take care of your problem.

If Dan's advice doesn't correct the problem (and it's not been too long ago since you hit the site) - Try running scanreg /restore from DOS (selecting a date prior to the problem).
Some of the script kiddies are fond of inserting Reg Hacks into their scripts these days.

You guys and gals are great! TY TY TY! I now have maximized windows! But I must say, I'm really worn out from all of that stretching... LOL! :-)

Close all IE windows but one. Maximize it. Hold down the shift key and click the X to close it. Now each time you open a new window it opens maximized.

The tips are great, now I can open new broswer windows whose size is almost big as my screen minus the tool bar. The only thing that still keeps me unsatisified is that the new window isn't exactly maximized, there are still borders around the four sides.. anyone know how to get rid of the borders without having to click the maxmize botton?

Pressing the F11 key goes to "fullscreen" mode. That gets rid of the borders... Does that work out for you? :-?
