Booting a computer without a cd drive!? Dell 433/l. Banana?

Specs: N/A
I need help to boot an old Dell 433/l. I restarted the computer and now it will not boot. I THINK it was running windows 95 but I'm not sure. I put in a bootup disk (a floppy) and it says "Starting Windows 95" but then I get something like this now CD-ROM Device Driver for IDE (Four Channels Supported) (C)Copyright Oak Technology Inc. 1993-1996 Driver Version : V340 Driver Name : BANANA No drives found, aborting installation. However, this computer doesn't even HAVE a CD drive. Which makes it more confusing because most of the troubleshooting I see for windows 95 involves an installation disk. How can I get my computer to boot again?

What happens when you try to boot normally without the diskette? Any specific error messages? Also can you confirm that this is Windows 95? If so this could be as simple as rewriting the master boot record.

When booting from a Win95 boot floppy, you're usually greeted with a menu:

1. with CD-ROM support
1. without CD-ROM support
3. view Help file

That fact that you're seeing "BANANA" means that your floppy isn't an original. And the reason it's stalling is because no CD-ROM is detected. I can point you to a site to download a Win95 boot disk creator, but what will you do with it once you boot off it & end up at a DOS prompt?
