The procedure to make bootable CDs varies for each burner program. Check the help file for the software that you are using.

Thanks guys,
I already searched on this site & google to no avail, and CD burning software (adaptec ezcd 4.02)(winIso 5.3 trial)will only load boot info from 1 floppy, not the second, and with no apparant means to combine the boot files :(

When you boot from the CD it is using Floppy emulation that is limited to 1.44mb of data but once booted you can change drives to the rest of the CD with ~700mb of data.

See these Langa search results for more info.

Have you tried copying the information from both floppies into a temporary folder, then use your burning software to make a bootable cd from that folder?

This may help.
With my system to make a botabole cd I first use nero rom burning utility. go to the DATA disk and select the bootabole cd option. Then you are instructed to copy some files from you win set up disk and I belive files from the floppy start up disk.
Then most important I had to enter my Bio's and checked the option of booting from cdrom.
Save changes and exit.
It works just I get the same resalts from the floppy as I do the cd if in a position to have to boot from eather I am on my way to reinstaling entier system. Advatage thought a CD is much more resilent.

Rich B, I use Nero 6 for my burning and do it exactly as you say. I still haven't been able to beat the floppy problem on my son's pc, but he really doesn't need it with a CD-RW/DVD on it. So I did exactly as you said. Chose bootable cd. From there I told it to use the files from the A drive and then it used the same files to make it bootable. I tried it in my son's pc and it works great. So I don't see why if you copied all the files off both floppies into one temporary folder it wouldn't work the same.

Must have missed something. You need two floppys to reboot your system?
I have one floppy that will start my system after a serious crash made with the add/remove programe Start up disk tab.
This gives enf dos to the broken computer to start up with minimal cd rom support.
The other Floppy I have ever maid was while reinstalling win 98 and it was used to start comp. if it crashed during the win set up.
AS far as a temp folder to hold the files. would be on you HDD? If you need a floppy to start win then something happened to the system files that makes you comp look at the hard drive for the boot info. The hidden system files. Dose this help?
Sorry I missed the fact of tw floppys to boot system. But all should start with out the aid of a bootabole floppy. Did you have to set your BIOS to look at the cd as a boot drive? Maby I missed the whole point of your question In that case I apologize for any bad advice I gave.
the order of startup for windows as far as i can tell is, A: is checked first for the system files to start windows. If nothing in drive a:\ the bios should direct its search to DRIVE c:\ your main H.D. where the system files (BOOT FILE) should reside on normaly. and this is constat with all windows
programes I have used. I am thinking I missed something becuse normaly your H.D. should be formatted and set as a system disk.
Laymens terms windows should not have a floppy boot disk To start up. All BOOT info should be on the main H.D.
I must be real slow tonight 2 boot floppys to start windows? All I ever used a boot floppy for was to restart system after a major crash and it start no other way.
Good luck. May your journey me plesent.
First star on the left and straight on till morning.
Dazed and confused.
