Hey all I'm having a big promlem here... I restarted my computer after reinstalling My Digicam driver and I am gettin the following error... I have tried clearing CMOS and everything else hardware related I can think of...
While Initializing Device IOS: Windows Protection Error. You need to restart your computer.
Any help is very apreciated, All my data is on this comp and most of it is irreplaceable... PS. I can boot in safe mode...

Did you uninstall the camera from Device Manager while in safe mode ? Also go to C:\Windows\INF\Other and see if there are any camera drivers there to delete. Krystyna

Do a search for "smartdrv.exe" If you have it... DEL it. This has worked for me before more than once. Of course other times it didnt. Ya never know! :o)

((P.S. Smartdrv is an OLD win31 file that is no longer needed for 95 and up)

I removed the drive and SMartdrv.exe but still no luck... :| I cant loose this data

OK, i've found out that "IOS" in the error MSg. Stands for "Input Output Supervisor" If that helps at all... :|
