At Boot-up, during Autoexec.bat execution, the DOS mouse function is installed.
Then I get the following:Mouse Driver Installed: PS/2 Mode
Auxiliary Device Port
Software Multiple for Dynamic Resolution is OffThe DOS mouse is successfully installed. But what is the significance of the
third line (Software Multiple etc)?

The Gorx:
The article refers to the unwanted presence of 'LEMOUSE.COM' in Autoexec.bat. But I do not have this file in autoexec.bat or anywhere on my HD.
The plot thickens!!!Contents of my Autoexec.bat:

You could do a Find for "Containing text"
and use LEMOUSE.COM in the word search. This may uncover some file which contains the reference and lead you to the solution.Alternatively "if you don't use DOS" then you could just take the line out of autoexec.bat (or for that matter you could dispense with autoexec.bat and config.sys altogether because "Windows" works fine without them).

....if you are on W98 you can type msconfig in the Run box and uncheck autoexec/config stuff. Also you could have a peek in win.ini and system.ini from the same place.
