Boot Hangs on Verifying DMI....

Appreciate some assistance

Building a pc with a Gigabyte 6BA v 2.5 Mainboard, Pentium II 350MHz/100MHZ FSB, 4 DiMMs with a total of 512MB SDRAM and BIOS 01/28/99-i440BX-W977-2A69KG0AC-00. Trying to boot with W98SE boot disk to install OS, and the boot will not go past "Verifying DMI Pool Data".

Any ideas of what could cause this hang up?

Checked the BIOS and thought things look OK, but maybe not.

It could be that your mother board doesn't support 512Mb of ram.

Try using 256Mb, and if that don't work, try 128Mb.

Boot up with a win 98 disk and preform an fdisk /MBR...no this will not repartition your drive just fix the MBR. It should work! Good Luck!
