Boot Failure install system disk.
This message often appears on the initiall attempt to start my system. Insatlling a boot floppy disk results in the system not finding C:\windows...,and an a prompt.Only after powering down and up again does it boot, but often slowly.
Could this be a virus ?
Or do I need to format the boot sector,(and if so how do I do that).

Have you tried running the SYS command on the C:?

To do this, boot from a windows 98 disk and at the prompt type: SYS A:

Then, remove the disk and reboot. That should solve the problem.
