I think I have the same problem. I reformatted a hard drive to clean install Win98. All worked fine until I did that. Now I cannot boot from a floppy, cannot get CD drivers, just get i/o error, replace disk and hit any key. It doesn't work. I have checked cables, but nothing works. Is there ANY way I can boot up? I do have a second HD, but can't even get THERE to install Windows on it instead. I'm STUCK!

Hi all,

My problem is different.

I have a WinME box running on RAID 0, having 2 identical 40G IDE hard disks connected to a RAID controller. I want to repartition the hard disks with a Win98 boot/rescue floppy which I have to create from a running Win98 box. I forgot where I could locate the command to create a boot/rescue floppy.

I download 'Win98 OEM' and 'Win98 customer' boot disks from www.bootdisk.com but unfortunately none of them could boot the PC. I also download 'fdisk' for 60G+ boot disk. Also it could not start the PC.

I am stuck

Kindly advise.

Thanks

Stephen Liu

In windows you can create a boot disk by going to 'start, control panel, add/remove programs, startup disk'.

You would be far better off (more useful responses) by creating your own posting - I know this one is a "bit" similar.

Go to the first page of computing-
net (one with all the problems listed) and at the bottom fill in the form. Keep a note of the number so that you can find it, or possibly come back with your own comment.

That's how it works on this site.

See what I said to Marilu in #5.

A new post of your very own is likely to get better results, this one is getting old now.
