PLEASE HELP!!! My computer has frequently been crashing. I know it's not an internet problem because it happens when I'm offline as well. I'll keep receiving a frequent blue screen with white writting error message. I'll receive this about once every two weeks then more and more frequent until I can't even get back into Windows anymore and forced to format c in dos. I am currently running Windows95 this has been happening to me for 3 months now meaning I have crashed and reinstalled software in this about 7 times now. I know it can't be a software problem because I get the message right after I install Win95 and I've tried two different versions of Win95. I am also running a 300mhz Cyrix proccessor with a PC100 motherboard with onboard sound and video with 32mb of brand new RAM. I also have two 1gig hd's that I have also tried replacing. The error message that I receive is:
A fetal excetion OE has occured at 0028:C001B01E in VxD IFSMGR(01) +0000340A. The current application will be terminated.
Press any key to continue.
Then the computer shows black screen after a key is pressed and forced to reset the computer and then can't get back into windows. This error message happens automatically and whenever it feels like it. I've already checked to see if it's a certain program it happens in.
*******PLEASE HELP*********** can't take anymore!!!!

From MS Win95 Resource Kit:
"In Windows 95, the key to access of disk and
redirected devices is the Installable File System (IFS) Manager. The IFS Manager arbitrates access to file system devices, and other file system device components."Since you have errors on IFSMGR, the problem might come from the hard drives, or related file devices(may be CD-ROM). And from the frequency of your machine crashed, even right after win95 installed, I suggest you do a surface scan of your hds(before installing win95). Try with a new hd, if the problem still exists, ...... that's all i can help right now, :P Good Luck.

I have trouble with my PC100 motherboard, and it stops if I disable the sound. Maybe you can try that. Don't install any sound driver, see if it works normally.

I've just fixed that problem on one of my
PC's. I had to change the clock speed from
100Mhz X 3.5 to 75Mhz X 5.0. It seems some
part of the system couldn't handle the 100Mhz.
I also tried 83Mhz and that also caused the
machine to crash. Now my PC is running at
380Mhz instead of the original 350Mhz and
everything works fine.

Hey Frank,
Hi. I think there is something wrong with your dll's. Did you ever replaced any DLL? This thing has happened to me once. I replaced user.dll and kernal32.dll which I wasn't suppose to replace in windows. I think you replaced one of those dll's.

There is a little error known in Windows 95 and 98, which gives you little fake blue screens of death, the true cause of this is a little blue elk residing inside your monitor, armed with a paintball gun, with blue and white ammo, respectively at a ratio of 80 blue pellets to 20 white, he fires these at the back of your monitor, and through complete coincidence they often form the text on your screen saying --- error etc etc etc with the white pellets, and the blue make up the background.
I bless you thusly.
