Black taskbar and start button not

I fixed my problem with black taskbar by installing the newest video drivers. It is unlikely anything in the registry has caused this problem. Try visting the Web site run by your video card manufacturer, download and install the latest drivers for your video card, and that should do the trick.

I reinstalled them from my disk which took care of my MSVCP60.dll problem, but not the taskbar problem. I'll go to Nvidia and download from there. I'll get back.

Dave, try reducing the hardware acceleration setting for the card.
Right click on blank area of desktop Select Properties Settings Advanced Troubleshooting

I tried all settings with no luck. I'm going to try uninstalling some applications and rebooting after each and see if that fixes it Thanks Dave
