Bios setting of HDD Max?

CPU/Ram: P II 300/128megs SDRam

In My Bios I have an option of IDE HDD Block Mode Sectors .... now I believe the seetings are 4,8,16,32 & HDD Max. Can anyone tell Me the didentions please and what setting I shoulld use. I have a Samung 3.4gig hard drive ATA33

Lol you got me on that one.

I suggest look for a auto setting, quite a few pentium boards have that feature or somewhere in the bios should be a auto detect hard drive.

This may give you some information.

Set it to MAX or at least 32.

Wow I must of been tired when I wrote my post, what I meant to say is (definition) and not didentions ... sorry to confuse you all. Can anyone tell Me what they all mean.

It has to do with the number of sectors that can be transferred with a single request. As Dan says, Max is usually OK.

use autodetect, your drive will be detected. There are problems with hard-drives more 8Gb.
