I have a hp omnibook 4150 and forgot my bios password. It is a phoenix 4.0 release 6.0. What can I do about this problem. Must I get my battery out or can anybody crack the password?
Please help me out!

According to BIOS Password Recovery, the backdoor password for most Phoenix Bios's is
' phoenix ' . Give it a try.

Hi.

There is no backdoor, it does not help to remove the battery. (I.v tryed)
You have to replace the securety chip.

i think u should try for the backdoor password which is "phoenix" . if not the check out by removing the battery. if there are jumpers go for that.
else use the below given debug utility if u can boot your system
0 70 17
0 71 17

i think this will solve yr difficulty

most desktop BIOS makers do not require anything to be soldered out, or to have batteries taken out. The simplest way is to find a jumper by locating a copy of hte manual, which can easily be found online, and either moving the jumper from pins 1-2 to 2-3 or by taking the pin off, starting it up and shutting it back down. Usually, this solves 99% of the password problems. Keepin in mind that all settings in the BIOS will revert back to the default setting.
