As long as it's not a laptop you can probably jump the CLEAR CMOS jumper to clear all the settings. Sometimes they'll be a separate password clear jumper. Some of the older Intel boards had a jumper to enable/disable the password. I'm sure the manual will explain how to do it.

If you cant find the jumpers on you’re computer then their should be a small watch like battery on the motherboard, remove that for about 2 minutes and then put it back in, that should clear the password.. but yea thats only going to work if you have a desktop computer...

To add to response #2 you must have the computer unplugged or the PSU switched off when performing this procedure.

It is ONE 2 pin jumper over 2 of 3 pins in a row. Should say clr cmos next to it. Sometimes located near the battery, but not necessarily. Move the jumper to the clear position momentarily while the power is completely off and then restore to the original position. The battery is a flat silver quarter sized battery that looks like an oversized watch battery.

Killcmos is identified by most AV progs as a virus. It isn't a virus.

Interesting, because as soon as I started to save KillCMOS, AVG popped up a warning and so I put the suspect file in quarranteen. When I looked at the file it was listed as a trojan! Anyway, I decided not to mess with it. All I probably would have done was delete an important CMOS entry anyway!

KillCMOS works by resetting the CMOS to default settings. It is safe to use. If you aren't comfortable with it then use one of the TWO other suggestions above.
