Hi, ok just out of curiosity what are some settings bios should be configured to have, to run your system at optimal performance. I know the basics of bios stuff, but a lot of things I don't comprehend such as shadow memory and all that. Should I have some of these settings turned on, or off that could make my computer run at a more optimal speed? I'm asking this because I'm having start up problems with Windows 98. It runs, but a lot slower than it use to. I even took out basically all startup programs through msconfig.exe . It still seems to take quite a while. Any suggestions? I already have my system configured for a network server. I also have my swap files configured to be done on my 8GB slave drive, and Windows is installed on my 13GB master drive. Please help, your reply would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Justin

PII 233MHz, 64Mb of RAM, 13.6Gb HD, and a 8Gb HD, and other components that don't make a difference.
I probably have been tweeking it too much. Is there anyway to restore the default settings that came with windows? I've made one too many reg changes to be able to remake the original. Damn, should have made an .inf file of all the things I modified. Damn. Oh well this puppy needs a format soon anyways. Thank god for backup drives, so I can save my 1250 MP3's. =) Thanks anyways. Just wondering if there could be a way around this problem.
