I have a Texas Instruments Laptop here (extensa 570cd)
When it starts, it does the POST sucessfully
However it sits and grinds away at the hard drive for around 2min, then allows the boot to proceed.
I have tried resetting the bios, removing prepherial devices
It has only done this since its ram was upgraded to 40mb. the chips are the right oes and hae been replaced twice
Kinda sounds like it 'might' ba an antivirus progam. If you're running Win98 you might want to run msconfig and check the startup tab for any suspicious programs.
