I need some more help PLEASE!
I received a message about downloading CMOS Killer from a site on the web. First we tried removing the battery from unit but did not remove password. Then as a last resort we tried the Killer. It does just that. Killed everything. The message it is running now is as follows:-
On board Serial Port 2 conflict
Equipment configuration error
Press control alt esc to enter set-up (on doing this unit is still dead)
or
F1 to continue - message then reads Password violated, system halted.I then removed all cables from reverse of unit. It went imideiately to system violated message. the unit will not allow me to do anything. Any of you good guys got any suggestions. I'm desperate.
Sue

it sounds like it didn't really remove the password, but instead just corrupted things..
many mobo's have a jumper that will reset or disable the password, look for that
you may also want to look for a jumper that will reset the cmos....that should solve your problems alltogether...
if nothing else, pull that battery again, you may have to let it sit overnight (or even a day or two..) to ensure it resets everything

Ditto on the jumper pin suggestion. Never trusted 3rd party software resets
But also goto BIOS...then INTEGRATED PERPHERALS...and disable the motherbard's COM2. It's prob'ly conflicting w/ your internal modem.
