hi.i have spyware i cant get rid of and its making surfing the net a pain in the butt.i posted this problem on the board the other night and got some good advice but it still didnt solve the problem.first i went to http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp and ran a on line virus scan.it found like 3 viruses and removed them.then i ran spybot.it found about 25 spyware programs and removed them, but every time i reset my computer and run spybot , it finds spyware programs in my system again.even when it scaned at start up they were still there. i thought mabee if i downloaded a firewall program{sygate},that would do the trick.well it didnt and i still have spyware.also, mabee this is a dumb thing to ask but, when i hit alt ctrl delete to see what programs are running, there is somthing called "motivesb".i dont know what it is but i cant turn it off even if i use msconfig.could this be the problem?i think this spyware is the reason that my IE will stall for about a minute every time i click on about 6 or 7 links in a row.thanks for the help.

Try adaware as well as another virus scan.

PC-cillin has an EXCELLENT DOS based version that is free and works well. You will need 7 blank floppies and a clean machine to make them on.

Try Spybot -- spybot.safer-networking.de . It was rated number one in a recent article on spyware in PC Magazine.

Did a google search on "motivesb" and got one hit. Check out the following site. motivesb appears to be associated with Vorizon DSL (do you have that?). http://forums.techguy.org/t123879/sa1e4f2718e064c61c9e4e14ae5807b94.html

BTW... did you update Spybot before you ran the scan?

You may also have a Trojan that is calling out to the Internet to keep these bugs coming back.

SwatIt free anti Trojan software
https://www.lockdown2000.com/cgi-bin/swatit.cgi

http://www.mischel.dhs.org/trojanhunter.jsp Trojan Hunter 30 day free trial. This runs in the background and is much faster but it's not free.
